The Conventions of Advertisment

In contrast to the rock genre R ‘n’ B advertisement in a magazine uses completely different conventions, particularly the font tends to differ and the genre R ‘n’B use the effect of very bold sometimes 3D fonts to  portray an album . These fonts are used to show the name of the band or artist or the album name and even used when advertising featured songs that may be included in the album. Within the r ‘n’ b genre there’s a wide variety of artists all with their individual style, therefore each album and artist uses a complete different image to represent the music they create. For example ne-yo’s used an image of himself incorporated in a busy city whereas N-Dubz have used a basic portrait of themselves with a simple background. However the majority of r ‘n’ b artist will always use a self image as a form of advertisement. R 'n' B use a variety of colours to advertise their music and dont have a set colour scheme. The style generally tends to be vibrant and clear and very 'in your face'. Sometimes R'n'B magazines use ratings as a way to attract an audiance.
