Digi Pack Ideas - Inspiration - Abi Shaw

Before creating our digi-pak i collected ideas from looking at other CD album covers within the dance pop genre to get a feel for the different types of styles and layouts, this would give us inspiration as to what our digi-pak could look like, what we could maybe include, what doesn't suit our music video and what we could change or develop into making our digi pak unique and original, but similar to the genre it's in as this is definitely what we want to achieve. By looking at other digi pak covers in the same genre i can see a contrast of bright colours, not only in the background but on the artist as well and the use of glitter in nearly all of them particularly in one of Kesha's her self and JLO's album cover. This is a good technique used to attract the audience mainly teenage females as glitter and appearance is something you would associate with girls. This is something we also want to enhance in our digi-pak, not only is it something that is already similar to the genre, but something that continues a display of through out our music video and one of our initial ideas. This would also link very well with the genre and be very useful in attracting the target audience. Close up shots of the artists face is shown and very common with albums as it shows the artist straight away allowing the target audience to see exactly who's album it is. The make-up like teenagers again in the modern day is very bold and the use of  bright lipstick is a main feature, as well as

the bold eye-make-up and hair. Again this something we want to emphasize on our own as appearance is definitely a major part of teenager girls lives and the boldness attracts the buyer with the use of bright colour to the artists face. The title of the artist and the featured song is also something displayed on the album cover on the fromt, and these are also displayed using bold font and in capital letters, were the writing is positioned varies but you can see it straight away and is easy to read. This is something that we will also need to consider, as the titles are important as it tells the audience what the CD is, allowing the buyers to notice the different songs one artist might have. Here are a few digi-pak covers that i looked at which i compared and as you can see they all share similarities, but are all very unique in there own way expressing the artist in different colours and themes. These covers were part of what inspired me and helped when deciding on how our digi pak would look.
