Lyrical Analysis

The lyrics to our chosen song tell a very strong story line based on an obsessive love towards a girl that, from the song, comes across as someone that would be totally out of their league. The story line is basic, but has a lot of key branches where it enables us to expand and use our imagination, the bottom line to the story is based on a guy chasing a girl to gain her love, however she has minimal interest in him and attempts to cut him off at all measures whenever possible. Due to the strong story line that is obvious when listening to the song we wanted to allow the story to come across even stronger by having the visual images in our music video tell the story, we have considered many ways of telling the story and agreed that using a fragmented story line may have the greatest effect, many dance pop video's that we have watched also tell a story in a fragmented way. When talking about matching the lyrics and visuals the options we have are great, for example, within the chorus we hear 'N N N Never Baby', this can be linked by written images on screen or body language very easily. All of these characteristics are very popular within dance pop music video's, and by watching various other music videos from the dance pop genre we gained great inspiration.
