Rough Cut Feedback

As a group we know that gaining feedback will be essential to creating a perfect video. We have been told that from our rough cuts our footage looks good so far and we have a clear and understandable narrative, this is good for us as we would like our story to be clear within the first 30 seconds of our video.

Our camera work had also been given feedback, we were told that we used good sizing of camera angles but our zooming out in the first scene could be smoother as it jumps towards the end. We took this into consideration and thought about changing what shot to use but found that this one in particular fitted in well as we had used lip syncing and it introduced both characters. The cuts we used were said to be fitting in well with the song, as the song jumps from time to time.

Our use of short cuts showing flashing lights were liked by the other groups, we were told these fit in with our Dance-Pop genre.

Our lip syncing had also been commented on throughout our feedback, we had been told that it was very accurate and in time with the words. This was a worry for us as it would be very hard to keep everything in time when adding different scenes. We are glad this worked well as communicating to the camera is common within our genre.

We were told that our Mise En Scene was ‘eye-catching’ and ‘keeps with the fun of the song’ these were very positive. Our genre was guessed due to our bold outfits, mainly that of our lead character.

Although we had many positive notes within our feedback, we also had some negatives, such as the camera/zoom jumping which was previously discussed. We were also told that the duration of our last shot was too long, this was something that we had too established, we were greatful of both the positive and negative feedback, using the negatives, we will now take them into consideration and try to edit/change these, and now we realise the positive aspects of our video we can try and use these techniques throughout the video itself as they are aspects that the audeince like and enjoyed
