Target Audience Results

Our questionnaire came back with some helpful feedback. We found that many girls aged 13-15 prefered the R 'n' B genre, this is a well known genre with artists such as Adele, Jessie J and Bruno Mars dominating todays music industry.
When asked what they would expect from a Dance-Pop genre the girls told us that flashing lights, bold colours and creativity would be something that would keep them drawn to the video. The majority of our questionnaires came back telling us that if students watched a good music video this would interst them in watching another video of the same artist.
As we had asked what artists they would relate to our genre, many girls came back with singers such as Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson and Cascada. These artists all relate to our genre as their music videos also contain bright lights and the use of bold colours. We knew that our target audience would expect something similar to their well known videos.
Our results showed us that 7 of the girls found connecting with the audience important, they said that it brings the audience closer to the song and helps them remember main aspects of the video. 3 others told us that within this genre connecting with the audience would not change there feelings on the music video. We found this useful, as the majority of the girls told us that they think it is important we decided that it is something we should definatly include within our music video.
Adding comedy to a video came back with a suprising result, all girls agreed that including a comedy sketch would increase the chances of them wanting to watch the video again. Due to these results we knew this would be a crucial thing to add in our video.
In doing the questionnaire it helped us gain a good understanding of what should be included within our video. We have taken into account all different aspects and are now considering what we should include.
